UConn 58 (8-5) - South Florida Bulls 44 (7-9)

This was one of the sloppiest more nondescript wins I've seen in a while. It was a nice 14 point win for the Huskies but there was almost nothing to take away from it. The Huskies were down 7 in the first half after a slow and shoddy start but went on a 21-2 run to pull away and put the game pretty much out of reach for a South Florida team that doesn't have the firepower to mount a comeback.
The Bulls are the 2nd youngest team in the nation and you could tell. Given some seasoning, they might have something there but it's way too early to tell. The scoring was spread around with no one really standing out as having a great game. Brimah had 13 points (to go along with 8 boards and 6 blocks), Boatright added 10, Calhoun dropped 8 in 16 minutes, and Hamilton had 7.
I'm loving what I'm seeing game-to-game out of Calhoun. I'll continue to sing his praises until he proves me wrong but he should be getting more than 16 minutes of playing time. He's playing really well so far.
That's really all there is to say about this game. It sucked to watch.
Next Up, UConn returns home from the Sunshine State to take on Cincinatti at 11 AM on Saturday. Why in the hell is the game that early?!?
